Sustainability
Designing custom objects with community impact in mind.
Layered Goods grew from the belief that good design should feel personal and do something meaningful. First Wave helped define that standard by combining 3D-printed tools, a beach cleanup, and a community activation into one shared experience.
First Wave
First Wave was the origin project that launched Layered Goods. It brought together environmental care, event design, and custom product thinking in one place.
- A beach cleanup designed as a shared community experience.
- 3D-printed cleanup tools created to make collecting micro-trash easier.
- A matcha pop-up and DJ set that made the activation welcoming and social.
- A proof point that design can serve people, place, and purpose at the same time.
Sustainability
Layered Goods is shaped by the idea that products should be worth keeping and made with intention. We think about usefulness, longevity, and how creative work can contribute to better local environments.
Philanthropy
Community care is part of the brand story, not a side project. First Wave showed how a product idea can support cleanup, bring people together, and make service feel approachable.
Design in action
The cleanup tools used during First Wave turned 3D printing into something practical: simple objects built for real handling, fast iteration, and direct use in the field.
